An International Women’s Day Reflection from Nested
Today is International Women’s Day, a day to celebrate the strength, resilience, and beauty of women everywhere.
At Nested, today feels like more than just a date on the calendar. It’s a moment to pause and reflect on the incredible women who have shaped our lives — the ones who encouraged us, supported us, challenged us, and believed in us when we needed it most.
When I think about the women who have influenced me, my mind immediately goes to the ones closest to my heart.
The women in my family who taught me what hard work looks like. The women who led by example — showing strength in quiet ways, offering wisdom in the moments I needed it most, and reminding me that perseverance matters.
I think about the friends who have walked through different seasons of life with me — celebrating the good days, lifting me up on the hard ones, and reminding me that we were never meant to do life alone.
And I think about the mentors and role models who offered guidance, encouragement, and perspective along the way. Sometimes their words were exactly what I needed to hear at the right moment, and sometimes their example spoke louder than anything they could have said.
Each of these women, in their own unique way, helped shape the person I am today.
A Community of Strong Women
One of the greatest blessings of owning Nested has been the opportunity to meet and connect with so many amazing women.
Women who are mothers, daughters, sisters, entrepreneurs, creatives, caregivers, and friends.
Women who juggle busy schedules, show up for their families, pursue their passions, and still find ways to support the people around them.
Every day I’m reminded that behind every small business, every family, and every community are women quietly doing incredible things.
